Driving...
As I expected, my idea of simply popping over to some thrift stores on Long Island didn't exactly go as easily as planned. For whatever reason, I don't bother printing out directions from Google, I just use VZ Navigator - a program which doesn't always give the fastest or least complicated directions. Let's just say it took about 45 minutes until I got on the Belt Parkway (about 3 miles from my apartment). But! I did get to see pretty parts of Brooklyn I had only seen on street view before...actual houses with yards and driveways! Old tree-lined streets! It was like we weren't even in New York anymore. The thrift stores were really terrible compared to the ones I'm used to, but I was pretty much expecting that too. There are a lot more out there that we didn't make it to, so maybe next time I'll find a better one. Maybe farther east? I did get some new stuff for the store! Not a ton, but some cute sweaters and fallish stuff. We also stopped by the Ikea out there and they had the chairs I've wanted for so long!

The Brooklyn Ikea is always out of them but there were a million at this one...I was really happy, and now we have dining chairs so we can actually use our table and not eat on our laps! How civilized of us.

A Preview
Here's a preview of some of the things I'll be adding to my Etsy shop in the next few days! I have so much more than this and it's going to take some time to get it all listed, but I wanted to share because I'm excited!

And, of course

America, Fuck Yeah!

Thrifted Pt. 1
This is (some of) the stuff I found for myself:

I've wanted one of these for so long! This one is from an estate sale.

From a different estate sale, $10!

50¢ kangaroo soap holder (it suctions to the corner of the bath) & $2 anchor buttons

I can learn how to tie complicated knots

From the flea market, this cat now resides in a gilded frame I got at the thrift store. It's waiting to go up on my portrait wall along with the strange boy from the 60s, Salina class of 1980, and paint-by-numbers cats.

Also cat-themed, this has a hole in the bottom for a light bulb to go in. So weird.

I love this

Old soup spoons!

This is probably one of the best things I've ever thrifted. the pictures are kind of terrible but in real life, it's amazing! It almost makes me wish it were fall just so I could wear it (velvet is probably not the best idea in this weather).
Anyway, that's about it. I have a million photos to edit for the store but when they're done I'll put them up, too!

new bedroom
We rearranged the bedroom and it's a million times better now!

We moved the bookcase in from the art room, but we're going to get a new bookcase (a normal one, not a big square one) and put clear boxes in this to hold my clothes! And then get rid of my dresser.
I thrifted the stuff on top of the bookcase while in Ohio for Christmas -

(I already had the big cow head and I found the mini one!)

Birthday Trip
So...I really haven't accomplished much recently. I have been doing Wii Fit every day, though! I did it for an hour and seven minutes today and it really is a workout. My birthday was Saturday and I went to Cleveland to hang out with my parents and go thrifting. I guess technically, thrifting counts as accomplishing something since I'm going to sell a few things on ebay that I found...

It was so fallish there...here, I'd barely even know since there aren't many trees.

On the way home, it was snowing like crazy.
Some thrift store/estate sale things I'm keeping:

And one I'm selling:

Now, I'm going to apply for more jobs. I had an interview last week where the man told me I didn't have enough experience after I had spent $2 and an hour getting there and had to do the same after I left. I don't understand...read my resume if you want to know what kind of experience I have. Don't waste my time!
